1894
The old El Max lighthouse
The lighthouse was built on a small rocky islet off the shore west of El Max, a hexagonal concrete tower with a conical dome, 11 metres tall.
1908
The old El Max lighthouse
The lighthouse was taken out of service when the approach line to the harbour changed, and has been neglected since.
1975
Halawa House
The house was finished in April 1975 and first lived in that July; it was designed by Abdel-Wahed El-Wakil and named after its client, Esmat Ahmed Halawa.

2006
Haras El Hodoud Stadium
The ground was used in the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt. It holds about 22,000 spectators.

The beaches of El Agamy
The beaches administration’s list, which the district published in its 2018 booklet, counted 42 beaches in its area, and 8 tourist villages at Hadeer, El Hanoville, Abu Yusuf and Abu Talat.

The Governor of Alexandria ordered the removal of all encroachments on El Agamy’s beaches.
